E-commerce is becoming more and more important for both the manufactures of building products and the big retail chains. Most retail chains already offer their products via online channels, including tutorials & instruction video’s.
But in what degree are the consumers willing to buy home improvement products online. Which products are more likely to be bought online? What are the preferred websites? These questions, and many more have been answered in the Q4 2014 E-commerce report of the European Home Improvement Monitor
If we zoom in on the willingness to buy online on a country level, we see that Italian and Polish consumers are most positive towards online purchases in the home improvement segment. Belgians on the other hand are clearly not in favour of buying home improvement products online. Even among the frequent online buyers, only 3 out of 10 considers buying such products online.
