European installers believe that the key benefit from working with sustainable solutions is getting more assignments. However, French and Polish installers have the most difficulties seeing the benefits of sustainable solutions
The HVAC industry keeps coming up with innovative sustainable solutions. however, some of these solutions still have difficulties to gain market share. 1 of the reasons for this is that the installers play a key role in the decision making process which solutions to be installed. If the installers can't see the benefits, or prefers to work with 'older' products (which they have more experience with and more confidence in) it will be difficult to increase market shares.
For example, German installers have a clear opinion on what product in the ventilation and conditioning segment are most sustainable. In this case that's balanced heat recovery ventilation/ heat exchange systems. However, they also perceive these solutions as most difficult to sell to their customers. The consequence is that they recommend Mechanical exhaust air ventilation more often (easier to convince their clients of the benefits and thus easier to sell).
These are some of the results from the Q3 report of the European Mechanical Installation Monitor, which focuses on sustainability. The survey is conducted on quarterly basis among 1,200 HVAC installation companies in 6 European countries. Each quarter a specific topic is discussed in detail.
