Interior Architect Monitor 2018
To provide manufacturers of interior design products with a profound understanding of the European interior architect. Who is the interior architect, where does he work, what does he do and how does he behave? These insights are provided for all major interior design elements, such as floors, ceilings, lighting, window decorations, walls and bathrooms. Furthermore, the decision-making authority and media orientation of the interior architect are investigated.
The definition of the interior architect is rather elastic: Anyone who likes to design and to advice others can become interior designer. For the purpose of this monitor we will investigate the professional interior architect only: He who does both residential and non-residential interior designs and is working for an architectural or decorative firm. In the market, the interior architect is however still a rather intangible target group, as this professional can work in rather different organizations and can be responsible for rather different aspects of the interior design domain. As such, the main focus of this first edition of the Interior Architect Insights Monitor will be to thoroughly map out who is the interior architect. In addition, the DMU and media orientation of the interior architect will be covered in the 2018 monitor as additional themes. Also, per product group we will identify the main brands in terms of brand awareness and brand specification.
