Changing role of the wholesaler; German electrical installers more satisfied than the UK electrical installer.

German electrical installers seem to be more satisfied with the role of wholesalers than their colleagues in the UK. Fewer German electrical installers have points of improvement for the wholesaler than electrical installers in the UK do. For Germany, this is a maximum of 46% and for the UK this is a maximum of 84%. The results are based on the Q2 report of the European Electrical Installation Monitor. With the European Electrical Installation Monitor Q2 report ‘changing role of the wholesaler’, USP Marketing Consultancy has gathered new insights on the role of the wholesaler from the perspective of Electrical Installers. To what extent are they buying from the traditional wholesalers? Is there an increase or a decrease on buying from the traditional wholesalers? This article zooms in on the aspects that should be developed or improved by the traditional wholesalers in the UK and Germany.

The satisfaction of the German electrical installer

German electrical installers seem to be more satisfied with the current role of the wholesaler. The highest share in Germany is only 46% (strongly) agree with aspects that should be improved: this is competitive pricing in relation to other channels. A lower share of electrical installers think the warranty policy (41%) and the technical support for installation companies (34%) should be improved.

What should be developed in the UK? 

Electrical installers in the UK also think the wholesalers should develop their competitive pricing in relation to other channels the most. About 84% of the electrical installers agrees with this. The second most important aspect that should be developed is the logistical performance (70% agrees with this). The top 3 closes with the warranty policy as most important aspect to be developed in order for installers to keep buying there. Navigation on the website/webstore (52%) and product training for installation companies (54%) are the aspects which are the least necessary to develop, according to electrical installers in the UK. A smaller share of electrical installers think the navigation on the website/webstore (24%) and the payment policy (25%) should be improved.
